Yaskawa Information Systems Releases Appliance Server Mounted with m-FILTER® to Effectively Sanitize Emails
~NetSHAKER m-FILTER® for Small-to-Medium Municipalities~

TOKYO, Japan (April 4, 2016) – Digital Arts Inc. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; CEO Toshio Dogu; hereinafter called Digital Arts; Code 2326), a leading provider of information security software, and Yaskawa Information Systems Corporation (headquartered in Yahata Nishi-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan; CEO Toshio Moroboshi; hereinafter called Yaskawa Information Systems) agreed to develop an appliance server for m-FILTER, a gateway email security software, to effectively sanitize email messages targeted for local municipalities. The appliance server will be available from Yaskawa Information Systems as NetSHAKER m-FILTER starting August 2016.

Since developing the first domestically-built web filtering software in 1998, Digital Arts has lead the web security field in Japan by providing innovative information security solutions, including web filtering and email message filtering.

m-FILTER is an email security software designed to prevent data loss, save and manage emails (archive), and protect users against spam. With the information service network being integrated with The Social Security and Tax Number System starting July 2017, local municipalities are highly urged to enhance security measures in their networks. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications issued the Fundamental Enhancement in Information New Security Measures in Local Municipalities, indicating a policy to segregate networks connected to LGWAN* and networks connected to the internet, and ensure filtered communication between the two systems. In light of these events, m-FILTER will release an additional feature in June to effectively sanitize all incoming email messages.

NetSHAKER m-FILTER Sanitize Email Messages Across Networks

NetSHAKER m-FILTER Sanitize Email Messages Across Networks

Since establishing its network business in 1995, Yaskawa Information Systems has converted features into effective appliances to make internet a more convenient and safe experience for customers.

Deploying a new software commonly requires an immense amount of time and effort, involving steps such as select hardware, install software, and test its compatibility with the hardware. In addition, operating the software has a high-impact on administrators for tasks such as isolating problems and taking appropriate measures against OS vulnerabilities. Appliance servers, on the other hand, reduces the strain on IT administrators by providing the hardware and the software that runs on it as a unit, and offering a one-stop support for maintenance.

Digital Arts and Yaskawa Information Systems brings small municipalities who operate without an independent IT management unit an opportunity to deploy the latest network security measures at an early stage with NetSHAKER m-FITLER, an appliance server among the first to correspond to new security requirements for sanitizing emails issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. A high-end version will be available soon for larger organizations. Digital Arts and Yaskawa Information Systems will continue to collaborate and support to resolve latest security issues in local municipalities across the nation.
