FinalCode® Achieves FIPS 140-2 Certification
For Both Client and Mobile Crypto Modules

TOKYO, Japan (September 14, 2016) – Digital Arts Inc. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; CEO Toshio Dogu; “Digital Arts”; Code 2326), a provider of information security software and solutions, announced that it has achieved Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 Level 1 certification by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for FinalCode Crypto Module and FinalCode Crypto Module for Mobile, which are AES256 crypto modules used in FinalCode, a persistent file security and tracking solution for enterprises and government agencies.

FinalCode’s persistent file security platform provides strong encryption, granular entitlement and traceability controls with the ability to remotely delete files even after they have been shared. Files are protected by a crypto module includes in FinalCode Client, Shared Folder Auto-Encrypt Feature and FinalCode API.

FIPS are standards developed by the U.S. government for use in computer systems, which describe document securing processes, encryption algorithms and related specifications standards for use within non-military government agencies and by government contractors and vendors who work with the agencies. FinalCode’s encryption modules that achieved FIPS 140-2 Level 1 certification and are Suite-B compliant will be integrated into FinalCode with its upcoming release, FinalCode Ver. 5.11.

“The demanding FIPS certification process demonstrates that FinalCode employs industry-compliant standards for encryption and security management,” said Noriyuki Takahashi, chief technology officer at Digital Arts. “In the US, government agencies, their vendors and many commercial institutions in the financial services, manufacturing and healthcare industries, require security products that employ encryption technology to be certified under FIPS. Having achieved FIPS demonstrates that FinalCode’s encryption has been evaluated in a standardized manner to meet various compliance requirements, and organizations requiring secure computing environments can use FinalCode with confidence.”

With proven quality and technical capabilities that resulted in FIPS 140-2 certification, Digital Arts strives to further deliver enhanced features that allow every client to use FinalCode with ease and confidence.
