I-FILTER® links up with Allied Telesis's "Secure Enterprise SDN" solution
~Making it possible to implement everything from threat detection and diffusion prevention to communication blocking all in one stop~

TOKYO, Japan (June 2, 2017) – Digital Arts Inc. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Toshio Dogu, “Digital Arts”, Code 2326, hereinafter referred to as “Digital Arts”) a leading provider of information security software, is set to link up with Allied Telesis Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinzo Oshima, hereinafter referred to as “Allied Telesis”) to form a collaborative solution between i-FILTER, an information leakage prevention and internal control tool and "Secure Enterprise SDN" (SES), a tool that aims to enhance network security. The collaboration is set to launch in July 2017.

i-FILTER is a proxy type internet filtering software, and Version 9 has a database of 101 categories registered. One of those categories, “harmful sites,” includes a list of URLs and IP addresses that contain malware or are malicious, and when access to one is detected the communication is blocked in order to prevent the device from being infected. The “harmful sites” database is updated once a day in cooperation with LAC, FFRI and NICT.

Allied Telesis’s SES is a solution that adapts SDN technology to the enterprise market by connecting enterprise networks and applications to reduce man-hours and cost, as well as to strengthen security.

In recent years there have been more sophisticated threats like targeted attacks and ransomware, and to combat these it is imperative to use threat prevention as well as high-precision detection and rapid isolation of any infected devices. When the need arises, SES and i-FILTER detects a malware-infected device attempting to access a harmful website, it notifies SES by e-mail, making it possible to shut down and isolate the target device with an edge switch. This provides a more robust information leakage prevention solution, as it can handle threat detection, diffusion prevention and communication blocking with a single solution. Through i-FILTER, the user can configure whether to receive e-mail notifications when the system is activated and a communication is blocked.

Digital Arts and Allied Telesis will continue to develop and provide a wide range of defense and response solutions to combat targeted attacks that are increasingly threatening, and will continue to work toward a safer and more secure internet.
