Digital Arts expands into zero trust security
— Achieving smooth implementation and operation centered on Whitelisting® , providing a secure and comfortable workspace —

Information security solutions provider Digital Arts Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Toshio Dogu; hereinafter referred to as “Digital Arts”; Code 2326) is pleased to announce that it has developed a new Security Service Edge (SSE) product called Z-FILTER, designed to enable VPN-free access and zero trust security for companies and organizations. The product is scheduled for release this fall.

Social backdrop

Zero trust security is a security approach that focuses on strict access control and continuous verification of trust, especially crucial as remote work and access to information assets both inside and outside organizations increase. While demand for zero trust security is increasing, its implementation is not easy. Challenges include technical difficulties in configuration and operation, rising security costs, among various other issues.
Specifically, many organizations struggle to adopt zero trust security due to limited IT and cybersecurity budgets, a shortage of specialized staff, and the complexity of selecting from a wide range of product options.

Z-FILTER features

At Digital Arts, we focus on developing products that enable more convenient, comfortable, and secure implementation and operation of zero trust security, with our first step in this endeavor being Z-FILTER.
Z-FILTER lowers the barriers to adopting zero trust security through a simple product lineup and straightforward pricing structure, while also including various features that reduce operational burden. Additionally, Z-FILTER addresses the limitations of traditional VPN-based perimeter security and resolves issues related to vulnerabilities in VPN equipment.

A unique zero trust security centered on Whitelisting®

Z-FILTER is Digital Arts' proprietary zero trust security solution centered on the feature of Whitelisting®. When implementing zero trust security, it is crucial not only to enhance the safety of the company networks but also to reduce and streamline the resources required for deployment and operation.
Z-FILTER achieves both security and simplified implementation and operation through Whitelisting®.

1. Security
Digital Arts' proprietary high-accuracy, high-coverage database only allows access to sites and IPs deemed safe, instantly blocking and isolating threatening sites and unknown addresses, thereby enhancing security when using the internet. Unlike blacklist-based methods, administrators don't need to worry about uncertain "gray zones" because all management is conducted by Digital Arts' database, ensuring high security even with limited resources.

2. Simplified implementation and operation
Built on an application that integrates Secure Web Gateway (SWG) and Cloud Firewall (CFW), Digital Arts distributes necessary information such as allowed port numbers, which are incorporated into settings. This reduces the burden of initial setup as well as settings changes during operation.
With Z-FILTER, smooth implementation and operation are possible, providing a zero trust security solution that balances safety and convenience, so users don't have to worry about threats.

Easy-to-use features for seamless adoption

Zero trust security usually requires complex settings, but Z-FILTER offers a variety of initial setup templates.
These include presets that work without custom settings and options to start with minimal use, all designed with an intuitive UI and detailed support only possible by a Japanese company, ensuring smooth adoption.
Additionally, automatic blocking of applications that remain unused for a set period helps prevent security gaps and reduces the workload of IT teams.

Simple, clear product lineup from a trusted Japanese service provider

While many zero trust security products in the market target large-scale deployments at high prices, Z-FILTER offers excellent cost performance with a licensing structure accessible not only to large enterprises but also to small- and medium-sized businesses as well. As a Japanese company, Digital Arts provides robust support to ensure the safe and reliable use of its products.

Digital Arts will continue to provide more detailed information ahead of the launch of Z-FILTER, offer advance notifications to customers, and actively promote initiatives aimed at achieving VPN-free access and zero trust security.
