Digital Arts launches allowlist-based SSE+IDaaS solution Z-FILTER
— A unified platform delivering everything from authentication to access control, built around Whitelisting® —
Information security solutions provider Digital Arts Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Toshio Dogu; hereinafter “Digital Arts”; Code: 2326) is pleased to announce that it will launch the integrated security service Z-FILTER on November 4, 2025. Z-FILTER enables end-to-end management from user authentication to access control through a single console, and adopts the company’s Whitelisting® feature that permits only authorized communications — an approach that has been featured in newspapers. It delivers a new security model that prevents attacks before they occur.
Unlike typical zero-trust implementations that depend on external IDaaS for authentication, this platform includes IDaaS functionality internally. Z-FILTER helps businesses implement zero-trust security while reducing the overhead of deployment and daily operations.
Z-FILTER overview and features
Z-FILTER is a Japan-developed SSE (Security Service Edge) + IDaaS (Identity as a Service) solution that controls web and cloud communications using an allowlist-based approach. It enables policy enforcement at the URL, domain, and application levels, provides granular access and operation control for SaaS and other cloud services, and offers communication visibility with log analysis. By integrating authentication functions (IDaaS) — including passwordless authentication (Passkey), certificates, multi-factor authentication, and device binding — into a single platform, the solution enables seamless implementation from user authentication to access control without the need for multiple products, delivering both enhanced security and simplified operations. From “responding” to attacks to “preventing” them
Conventional security measures have largely followed a “detect and respond” model based on the assumption that attacks are inevitable. However, in recent years, cyberattack techniques have grown increasingly sophisticated, making it difficult to fully prevent damage using traditional approaches alone. Against this backdrop, a new allowlist-based security model known as Whitelisting®*1 is gaining attention. Amid the growing prevalence of cyberattacks and malware incidents, Whitelisting® has continued to record zero reported cases*2 of malware damage among adopters. With this allowlist-based model at its core, Z-FILTER provides the foundation for zero-trust security by allowing only trusted communications and behavior. Powered by Digital Arts’ proprietary high-precision, high-coverage database, Z-FILTER permits access only to sites, IP addresses, and cloud services deemed safe, while automatically blocking threat sites and unknown sites, thereby enabling a mechanism that eliminates attacks before they occur.
By integrating this Whitelisting® model from network control to access management, Z-FILTER enables organizations to build an operational framework for the safe, efficient use of cloud services. It advances zero-trust security as the new standard at a practical operating cost.
*1. Track record of Whitelisting®
• As of the end of September 2025, the number of users had surpassed approximately 14.28 million, with zero reported cases of malware infection to date
• Under Phase 2 of the GIGA School Program, 93% of the boards of education approached by Digital Arts adopted its products
(As of the end of September 2025; internal data)
*2. Number of reported malware infections among users of i-FILTER Ver. 10, m-FILTER Ver. 5, i-FILTER@Cloud, and m-FILTER@Cloud as of the end of September 2025 (internal data)
User feedback and response from the beta release
The beta version was launched on September 1, 2025, with verification conducted primarily in collaboration with partner distributors. During testing, the following feedback was received from companies that deployed the solution:• “The management console UI was extremely easy to understand and intuitive to operate. It proved useful not only for implementation staff but also for explaining the system to executive management.”
• “The design and usability of the management console were particularly well received, earning high marks internally.”
• “The SWG functionality is very robust, providing sufficient security for both cloud applications and web usage.”
Requests for functional improvements gathered through beta testing are currently being reflected in the commercial release.
The value of implementing zero-trust security with Z-FILTER
With this launch, Z-FILTER evolves beyond a simple web filtering or access control tool into a Japan-developed SSE + IDaaS solution built around the Whitelisting® model. Through flexible communication control designed for cloud and SaaS environments, it delivers both strong security and a smooth user experience. In addition, easy-to-understand dashboards and reports that visualize communication activity and SSE usage enable administrators to instantly grasp the organization’s security status. Its Japan-based development and domestic support structure further ensure fast, responsive assistance after deployment.Designed with a simple configuration and pricing model that even small and medium-sized enterprises can adopt with ease, the solution also offers the flexibility to integrate IDaaS and additional security functions on the same platform. Serving as a long-term foundation for digital transformation, it can continue to be leveraged as business needs evolve. The official release, incorporating practical operational insights gained from the beta version, truly delivers on the promise of “making zero-trust security more accessible,” enabling a safe and efficient business environment.
