Link option for Digital Arts' m-FILTER@Cloud and NRI Secure's Crypto-bin now available
— — Email security that enables easy and safe transfer of attachments without the use of PPAP now on the cloud — —

Information security solutions provider Digital Arts Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Toshio Dogu; hereinafter referred to as “Digital Arts”; Code 2326) is pleased to announce that on September 1 it will start offering a link option between email security product and Crypto-bin for m-FILTER@Cloud, a file transfer solution by NRI SecureTechnologies, Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akira Kakinoki; hereinafter NRI Secure)

PPAP security issues include the risk of information leaks when sending and attacks when receiving

PPAP (file transfer in which a password-protected ZIP file and its password are sent via email separately) has become commonplace among Japanese businesses. However, it carries various security risks and its use is beginning to be reconsidered, especially by major companies.

PPAP has security risks in both sending and receiving e-mails. Two of the primary risks are data leakage when the emails are sent to the wrong address and attacks, such as malware, from incoming emails when the method of password-protected ZIP files is abused.

With Crypto-bin for m-FILTER@Cloud, files can be sent and received without using PPAP.

Digital Arts offers on-premise and cloud versions of its m-FILTER email security product, which provides external attack countermeasures to prevent all types of email attacks, as well as email filtering to prevent accidentally sending emails to the wrong address.

NRI Secure's Crypto-bin for m-FILTER is a file transfer service that allows users to securely send electronic files from their web browser. Until now, a linking option, Crypto-bin for m-FILTER, has only been offered for the on-premise version of m-FILTER.

In order to provide more customers with an environment that enables easy and safe file transfers, the cloud version of m-FILTER@Cloud will also begin offering an option from September 1 that enables integration with Crypto-bin for m-FILTER@Cloud.

The linking option between m-FILTER@Cloud and Crypto-bin for m-FILTER@Cloud allows users to automatically upload files attached to emails to Crypto-bin for m-FILTER@Cloud instead of manually uploading files via a web browser as with general file transfer services. This allows users to securely transfer files without having to make major changes to how they currently use their email. It also allows users to move away from PPAP by ensuring secure file transfer while guaranteeing safety when sending and receiving emails.

Specifically, m-FILTER@Cloud automatically separates emails with attachments into email body and attachments. The body of the email is sent to the recipient as is, but the attachment is automatically uploaded to Crypto-bin for m-FILTER@Cloud and the recipient can retrieve the file from the download URL provided in a separate email. The recipient can use their account login details to download the file, removing the need to send the password in a separate email.
