New Credential Protection Feature Added to i-FILTER@Cloud
— Blocking the transmission of credentials as an anti-phishing countermeasure —

Information security solutions provider Digital Arts Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Toshio Dogu; hereinafter referred to as "Digital Arts"; Code 2326) is pleased to announce that it added and started offering on November 26, 2022 a new feature called "Credential Protection" to its cloud-based web security product i-FILTER@Cloud to block the transmission of credentials, such as IDs and passwords to phishing websites.

Increase in Attacks Using Phishing Websites

The number of malware attacks has been increasing daily as digitization progresses and remote work becomes more common. The methods used in the malware attacks are also becoming more sophisticated.

In response to these attacks, Digital Arts has been offering the whitelisting and Download Filters features with its cloud-based web security product i-FILTER@Cloud. The whitelisting feature categorizes searchable URLs in Japan, registers them in a DB (database), and blocks access to unknown URLs that are not registered in the DB. The Download Filter feature blocks the downloading of files whose safety cannot be confirmed.

However, nowadays, not only unknown threats and malicious files, but also phishing, in which users are sent to phishing websites from emails, etc., are on the rise. Phishing websites mimic real websites of financial institutions, ecommerce companies, etc., and are exceedingly difficult to identify.

Blocking credential leaks to phishing websites and providing stronger security measures in a cloud environment

To prevent the threat of phishing websites, Digital Arts has added a new Credential Protection feature to i-FILTER@Cloud (regular version) that blocks the transmission of credentials such as IDs and passwords to phishing websites.

Credential Protection is a feature that permits the transmission of credentials only to URLs whose security has been confirmed using Digital Arts' proprietary technology, and blocks the transmission of credentials to websites whose security cannot be confirmed. This feature prevents the leakage of credentials not only from ordinary phishing sites, but also from fake company websites, where third parties post malicious content, such as phishing sites, on legitimate websites, making it possible to achieve stronger security measures in a cloud environment.
Credential Protection has been provided with i-FILTER Ver. 10 (on-premise version) since March 2020.

In addition to preventing viewing harmful information and websites unrelated to business with its filtering feature, it also prevents external attacks and internal information leaks.
