Offsite Activities to Promote Web Filtering: December 2016
In efforts to build awareness on the importance of web filtering, Digital Arts Inc. (“Digital Arts”) conducts workshops to educate individuals and organizations on cyber literacy and web filtering.
In December 2016, Digital Arts was invited to speak at the following organizations:
・Student and Adolescent Development Association for Osawa Junior High School Zone
・Tochigi Prefecture Board of Education
・Fukui Prefecture PTA
・Caritas Elementary School
・Sakai City Board of Education
・Nagoya City Board of Education
・Information-Technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA)
・Japan Network Security Association (JNSA)
・Youth Services Administration
・Prefecture of Hyogo
・Nankodai Junior High School (Sendai)
・Azumatachibana Junior High School (Sumida-ku, Tokyo)
・Chiba Regional Consortium
・Numama Elementary School PTA (Zushi, Kanagawa)
・Nishinadai Junior High School (Omachi-shi, Nagano)
At the Student and Adolescent Development Association for Osawa Junior High School Zone, approximately 70 parents and teachers attended a seminar “Setting Smartphone Rules- Keys to Succeed” to learn best practices of setting smartphone usage rules and key points to remember when setting rules in the family.
At Caritas Elementary School, 100 sixth graders and 20 parents gathered for a workshop on smartphone safety and setting smart rules to keep children safe.
For other organizations, Digital Arts introduced the Simulating Smartphone Dangers App explaining the risks involved with internet use and the benefits of web filtering software, tailoring seminar contents to reach teachers, parents and students at their appropriate level of understanding.
