Family Day Nagoya
Digital Arts Inc. (“Digital Arts”) exhibited a booth at Family Day Nagoya, hosted by Family Day Nagoya Executive Committee, on Saturday, January 14 at Nippongaishi Hall.
In order to spread public awareness of Family Day established by the City of Nagoya, this annual event attracts city public school PTAs and various civil groups to set up food stalls and exhibitions aimed to strengthen family ties. Nagoya Board of Education and Japan Internet Safety Promotion Association together hosted exhibitions for families to learn useful information on safe smartphone usage in a fun way, and Digital Arts was one of the four vendors that had a booth in this category.
At the Digital Arts booth, children took part in a workshop using tablet devices to take photos and use apps to decorate them. While children waited for their photos to be printed, they participated in grade-appropriate quiz to test their knowledge on cyber safety. Participants saw the useful and fun aspect of the internet, while also learning the risks and dangers involved.
Digital Arts continues to take an active role in communicating the importance of digital literacy and the effective use of web filtering for parents and children through various events and lectors as part of educating young people around the country on information morale.
